I'm a Guest Designer for WRMK!!!

I was lucky enough to be chosen as a Guest Designer at We R Memory Keepers!  They sent me some of their wonderful product and asked me to make "something awesome".   Here's a sneak peak of the awesome project I made using their Harvest collection.

You can see the whole project HERE on the WRMK blog.  I absolutely loved playing with the Harvest collection and couldn't resist making a fall layout to showcase some beautiful photos of my aunt's property.
I used the Sew Easy stitch piercing tool and hand stitched a zig zag pattern around my border.  I love the texture that stitching adds!  I decided to use the I {heart} Fall die cut as my title and made my own embellishments by die cutting leaf shapes with my Silhouette Cameo.  To add additional texture and volume, I ran each of my die cut leaves through a paper crimper before I adhered them to my layout.
I used foam pop dots to give my leaves additional depth.  I love the corrugated look and need to remember to do this more often to add interest to my embellishments and titles.

Since this collection really put me in the "fall spirit" I decided to create a quick card using another of the die cut tags.  This simple card came together in less than 2 minutes!  I love the colors and patterns in this beautiful collection!

Thank you for stopping by and thanks to WRMK for giving me the opportunity to guest design!  If you're visiting my blog for the first time, I'd love for you to stick around, check out my work, leave a comment, or even become a follower!  I'm giving away this WRMK sew easy stitch piercer and piercing mat to one of my faithful followers at the end of the week!

I bought the Sew Easy as soon as it came out and was lucky enough to win another tool and mat during an on-line crop/chat, so I thought I'd pass along the love :)  Stay tuned because I'll announce a winner on November 11th!

5th grade

This week I decided to do another layout about my oldest son's first day of school.  I mixed papers from WRMK's Hall Pass collection and Imaginisce's Geek is Chic collection along with a couple random pieces from Echo Park to create this layout.
I added some doodles, paint splatters, and rub on elements to complete the look I was shooting for.
This is the third layout from this weekly series at Scrapbook Steals.  For details about the challenge and to see the inspiration sketch, you can visit them HERE.

I'm a guest designer for We R Memory Keepers!

With the back to school routine in full swing, I was thrilled to have the chance to be a guest designer for We R Memory Keepers, using their fun new Hall Pass collection.  I was lucky enough to be a teaching assistant at CHA Chicago and got a sneak peak at this collection during the "Tool School" class.  The colors are so fun and fresh and are perfect for my boy pages!  I dug thru a stack of dusty photos and found these back to school pics from three years ago that were still waiting to be scrapped (yikes....I'm a little behind).  This collection was the perfect match for my photos!  The embossed tags and stickers have great texture and the papers are slightly distressed, adding lots of character!

In addition to my layout, I decided to get a jump start on the holidays and I created this altered clipboard that will be the perfect gift for my son's teacher. I simply cut out some of my favorite patterned papers and adhered them to a wooden clipboard with a thin layer of matte mod podge.  I added a die cut sticker across the seam, personalized it with some die cut letters, and sealed the whole project with another layer of mod podge.   It was super fun and super cute.  I think Mrs. Miller will love it!

Thanks to We R Memory Keepers for giving me the opportunity to be a guest designer and for letting me show off this wonderful collection!  Check out the rest of their great products and find out where to purchase them HERE!
